"The Better the tool"
We have a saying in the bizz that goes "the better the tool the mechanic" What does that mean? It means if you take the time and money to afford the good stuff it will pay off in the long run. Example 1, my motorcycle. Comes time to buy tires what do I buy? I could buy the cheaper tires and get much more mileage out of them to sacrifice performance. May not make a difference if I'm not involved in a "tight" situation. HOWEVER!!! Someone pulls out in front of me and I have to slam on the binders. The cheaper tires don't grip they just slide like they're on ice...WHAM, right in the side of the car, multiple broken bones IF I'm lucky. On the other hand I dole out the clams for the "stickier" tires so that in the same situation I'm able to avoid the collision unscathed. Is it worth it for an extra $20.00 - $30.00 bones? Being there and done that I can honestly say yes! If you drive aggressively and on the edge TRUST me it worth the clams! And this is just one example. Brakes, shocks, ANY performance parts. $20.00 - $50.00 bucks is NOTHING if it could mean the difference between life & death. I know it's easy to get caught up in the "budget" aspect but don't take chances with your equipment if you drive your vehicle aggressively! Think about it, all it takes is once and "I should have" SUCKS!! You cant go back and change things. Do it right the FIRST time!! Yeah I might drive like an ass but I guarantee you I have NOTHING but the finest parts on my vehicles! Close calls are GOING to happen, there's NO way around it. It's how your machinery handles it that means the difference whether you make it out OK. Please take this advise to heart, I want you around for a while and trust me you'll thank me for this some day!!! Cary on soldiers!!!
